Ohhh my goodness. I'm so embarrassed I don't even know what to do with myself!! I am soooo not caught up with Lost YET AGAIN!!!! geez... let me reiterate: I am a horrible fan!! T-T. My weekend was packed, so I had no time to watch it... and I don't know when I'll have time to watch it next!!! Aughhhh I'm so behind on schoolwork now. ...It's okay! I can do it! (Make time for Lost, I mean. :P)
Anyway, this weekend was the weekend I "legally" turned 21!!! And wowwww. it was a night filled with sooo many memorable moments.

rest in peace mcqueen

Oh my goodness. Alexander McQueen. suicide?
It devastates me that one of the most brilliant, innovative and daring designers of our time is now dead. Personal issues aside (because we can speculate, but who knows the exact reasons?), it's such a huge loss to the fashion world. or even the art world in general! His pieces and his shows were gorgeous works of art that actually deserved all the praise and recognition (and controversy as well, I suppose). Augh. I was watching "Sleepless in Seattle" with Miriam on the E! channel when I heard the news during the commercial break (for ... E! news, lol). I was shocked and half-hoping I'd heard it wrong, but Miriam confirmed it was true. ahhhh.
He'd always been in my top 5, and it really saddens me that there will be no more Alexander McQueen shows to look forward to anymore. Who else brings the drama and beauty like he does?

shopping shopping shopping
I bought two new pairs of heels today!! AHhhhhhh so good. One's a pair of brown leather t-strap with 5" tall platform heels from BCBG- they're so sooooooo cute!!! They make me super tall and make my legs look soo longggg. ^^. Looove them. I'm gonna wear them for the Mejicas social on Friday and for hitting the bars on Saturday.
The other pair are these black gladiator style heels I bought for our BitterSweet party. I think I'm going to wear this really cool black jumper shorts thing with them. It looks mildly futuristic and pretty kick-ass. I don't really look "bitter," more ... cold and indifferent? hahahhaa. it's my form of bitter. :]
Before I enjoy the weekend, though, I need to finish my annotated bibliography!!! aaahhhhh.... I need inspiration. motivation. something. blegh.

"LA X"
Thoughts about Season 6 so far?
WOISJFLSKJGXIDOFUSDOIFJSDLKJXJ.c,vjdlksGJDKFSDKFLSJDFSLDKGJ!!!
I'd seriously forgotten how invested I'd been in these characters!! And how mesmerizing the viewing experience could be!! Is there any other show on tv that can satiate all my nerdy, romantic, cynical, hopeful and fantastic desires as effectively as this magnificent production? NO.
(Again, thank you, Abrams, Lindelof, Cuse and co.)
Some quick thoughts (Spoiler Alert! OBVIOUSLY):

really, Susie!?
I bought the perfume. =) mmmm I feel so happy when I smell it on myself!! I can't stop sniffing my own wrists. hahahaa...
I was supposed to do my annotated bibliography for my thesis research today, but instead I spent the whole day cooking+ baking... so total failure for my brain, win for my tummy! Oh, I also went to the gym in the morning (morning? ok maybe more like ... at noon). I like running on the treadmill because I like to know all the statistics, but ughhh I hate being around all those people!!!!!! esp the idiots who love looking at themselves in the mirror, thinking they're hot shit and all... (most definitely untrue 95% of the time)
Running on the track alone at night is the best feeling ever. except when random deer pop out and scare the living daylights out your ass. (whoahhh I just got a crazy visual in cartoon form.)
Anyway, I'm suuuuuuper excited about next weekend!! Friday- Mejicas Valentine's Day Social, Saturday- bars (yayyy for "legally" turning 21 again!) and Sunday- our BitterSweet Valentine's Day party!!!
Damn, who needs a male (or you know, not?) friend of romantic &/sexual interest when you've got good company and great drinks? Am I right, ladiiiies? Heh heh... So, I think I'm leaning towards "Bitter" for V-day? AHHH wait scratch that, I don't know. Sweet has its merits, too... Basically, I need to go shopping to see my options more concretely. -__________-
ALSOOOO, I AM A HORRIBLE FAN. OMG OMG OMG BAD SUSIE BAD SUSIEEEEE!!!! I AM SO SORRY, MY BELOVED. I MISSED THE SEASON PREMIERE OF LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND JUST REALIZED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD DAMN IT. Ok I'm going to calmly finish this post, head over to the ABC site, watch the show and then probably blog about it. mmmmmmmmmmggghhhh (what noise is that? kind of a guttural "mmmm," which is how I'm feeling towards the show right now- like a creepy and extended "deliciousss" in mmm form.)
ok, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

A Personal Matter

I'm reading this amaaaaazing book by Kenzaburo Oe (creds to my TA david- thank you!), and oh my goodness, it's taking me so long to get through because I keep going back and re-reading previous pages. His word choice and imagery are marvelously addictive, and the way he makes ordinary things delightful and even grotesque... ugh, it's everything I could ask for in a book.
I love when writers can turn the most mundane events into something exquisite and poignant. Practically(,) everything can be categorized as boring and repetitive, but with a slight shift in perspective, those same things can become compelling and inspiring.
People often want inspiration to come smack them in the face in a glaringly obvious matter, but I find it to be much more precious and intimate when you find it where others cannot (or try not).

another one...

J.D. Salinger passed away!! Aww... I remember the first time I read Franny and Zooey....... I was so in love with it. I think I actually read it before Catcher in the Rye (which I didn't really like- something about it was too masculine/hard for me?? and I thought Holden was a little jackass). I even wanted to name my kids Franny and Zooey, and I thought Zooey was just the cutest thing ever <3. I haven't thought about the Glass family in so long... Poor Seymour... Walt... the idea that you could meet the love of your life and not be able to spend the rest of your life with that person?! tore my heart. hahha... I never really loved Salinger beyond the world he created, but I must say I truly appreciate him for having given me one of my early great reading experiences. I wanna read F&Z and his short stories again... to see if I still like them. I feel like I might actually hate them because of their super-whiteness, but ... hey, I don't hate all white stuff! Part of me is such a nerdy little white boy... yupp. ^^
Another thing. I seem have it in my head that Zooey is gay. I can't recall if this is actually mentioned in the book or if it's something I added on to him myself... oops.

BIKRAM.
Today was my third round of Bikram Yoga with the roommates. and it was SOOO GREAT!
I've gotten more used to the poses, so I went all out this time, and it really made a difference. Also, we went to the last class so the room was the HOTTEST it's been, which helped me stretch out to my maximum potential.
I almost passed out because it was so hot and I'd drank all my water (next time, taking two bottles!!), but you CANNOT leave the room or any nonsense like that. It was such a mental battle. I was totally passing in and out of ... something. hahhaha... And we were ALL SOOOOOO SWEATY!! I thought I'd discovered my maximum sweat levels my first two times, but this was BEYOND anything I'd ever experienced!!! I felt like I was caught in a rain storm, the way I kept dripping drops of sweat everywhere. Eri said that at one point, when we were bending down, she had a continuous stream of sweat flowing off the tip of her nose. HAHAHAHAA.
After class ended (after 90 longggg minutes)we all came out like "FUCK, that shit was INTENSE. but SO GOOD."
I'm so glad I found something that works me so hard and is fun. I also never thought I'd be the type to like going to work out with friends, but I think it's different with yoga. I really like having my friends with me~. and going there together, coming back together, eating together. :).
I've always been more of a solitary night time runner (it really helps me clear my head), and I'll always be one, but this is nice, too.
We're gonna get monthly passes and I'm going to go at least 3 times a week and try to go 4 or 5 times. It's also good because by night, I'm so fuckin wiped out that I knock out a few minutes after I hit the bed (it usually takes me about an hour or sometimes even two...).
